WINTER WONDERLAND COLLECTION
Christmas has always been my favorite time of year! The tree, the decorations, the food, music, everything about it brings joy. But most of all, it’s the cheer of being together as a family and the traditions that make this season so magical. One of my fondest holiday memories, passed down from my mom, is the excitement of opening a new Christmas ornament each year and hanging it on the tree. Over time, it became a special tradition to receive an angel ornament, and it warms my heart to know that my mom, our angel, watches over us from heaven as we carry this on year after year. My dad took over this tradition, and now we open our annual Dutch themed goodie boxes with the delight of a Delft blue ornament that graces our tree each year. It holds deep sentiment to be able to pass this on to my children and love seeing their excitement as we fill our tree with a little treasure one at a time.
I also find peace in the beauty of winter. In Calgary, we are fortunate to experience snowy days filled with sunshine and the soft glow of vibrant skies. That means morning winter walks, sledding and evening skates under the holiday lights. On those chillier days, a warm cup of tea and the scent (and flavours) of homemade Christmas treats warm the soul. It’s these little moments of comfort and connection that I hold closest to my heart.
