The Sweet Dreams collection came to life after a very special visit to Isle of Man in Great Britain where my husband is from. Due to the global pandemic, this trip was the first time we had seen his family in two years. In that timeframe, we had our beautiful daughter but sadly we also received news that one of our family members received a bad diagnosis with cancer. So after a long wait, we packed our bags and traveled across the pond to be together. We spent a lovely two months together and in that time our daughter met her British grandparents, she took her first steps on the kitchen table and also dipped her toes in the sea for the very first time. It's seemed that no matter what the world wanted to throw at us, it was new life, lots of sunshine and the sea that seemed to soothe everything. It's as if every crashing wave reminded us that hard times are only temporary and sometimes we need to take a moment to simply inhale and exhale. To breathe. To heal. To hope. So naturally, I started to chase sunsets by the sea. I would put our little girl down to sleep and after tea, I'd ride my bike down to the beach and thank the sun for all the blessings that day. It was almost as if the sun would tuck me under her warm blanket each night. Bed time stories were a glorious display of vivid colours in the clouds and in perfect harmony the soft ocean breeze would whisper, Sweet Dreams. I'm not sure what your story is, but I know that this time hasn’t been easy. It's been full of some high highs and some very low lows. What I do know is that it is time with family and in nature that has lifted me up. So I hope this collection of paintings remind you of all the good in your life, that each day is a new beginning and with that in mind, you may all have sweet dreams of an even brighter tomorrow.
